Seven years ago, before there was Dinkum World, there were Dinkum Dolls.
The original Dinkum Dolls by Olli Ella were a family of six soft, poseable dolls, each with their own name and personality. They were made for dressing up, cuddling, carrying everywhere and becoming completely their own in the hands of a child.
We had no idea just how big their little world would become.
Meet the Original Dinkum Dolls
From the very beginning, we wanted Dinkum Dolls to feel less like toys and more like childhood friends.
With soft, huggable bodies, poseable arms and legs, brushable hair and changeable outfits, Dinkum Dolls were designed for the kind of open-ended, imaginative play where children get to decide what happens next.
A Dinkum might be their baby one day and their best friend the next. They might come to breakfast, be tucked into bed, join a tea party or become the very important passenger who simply has to come on holiday.
We created the Dinkum.
The child created the story.
And that was always the magic.
From Dinkum Dolls to Dinkum World
Those first six Dinkum Dolls were only the beginning.
Over the years, the Dinkum family grew. There were tiny Dinkums and sleepy Dinkums. Cozy friends, babies, pets and all sorts of characters joined the family.
And somewhere along the way, all those Dinkums needed somewhere to live.
So Dinkum World grew around them.
Today, Dinkum World is filled with different families, characters and faraway corners to explore, each designed to inspire storytelling and imaginative play.
But no matter how much their world grows, the original Dinkum Dolls will always be at the heart of it.
Seven Years of Dinkum Dolls
The loveliest part of looking back isn't seeing how many Dinkums we've made.
It's seeing what happened to them once they left us.
We've watched Dinkum Dolls be given new names, tucked into tiny beds, dressed for parties, taken on family holidays and handed down to younger siblings.
Some of the Dinkums from those very first years are still out there being loved today — perhaps a little more worn, but all the better for it.
Because Dinkum Dolls were never designed to sit perfectly on a shelf.
They were made to be loved.
What Makes a Dinkum Doll Special?
Dinkum Dolls by Olli Ella are designed to grow with a child's imagination. They're soft enough for cuddles, poseable for play and can be dressed and accessorised to create new characters and stories again and again.
But perhaps the most special thing about a Dinkum Doll is everything we don't decide for them.
Their biggest adventures are the ones children imagine themselves.
That's how a doll becomes their Dinkum.

Seven years later, Dinkum World is much bigger than those first six little dolls.
But the idea at its heart hasn't changed.
The best toys aren't just played with. They become part of childhood.
Thank you to every family who has brought a Dinkum Doll home, given them a name, packed them for an adventure, tucked them into bed and made them part of the family.
